It’s always a treat when a project can blend old-world charm with a trendy modern driveway design. This outdoor project aimed to capitalize on that very trend, resulting in a fusion that creates something brand new and chic.
The dark square designs on the front driveway are laid using Unilock Town Hall pavers in Basalt in a running bond pattern. The Town Hall pavers also act as a border accent around the entire perimeter of the driveway. As part of the Unilock Elegance line, Town Hall pavers use Reala technology to support its timeless beauty in a variety of shapes and textures, plus with the added benefit of Ultima concrete, pavers will last up to four times as long as poured-in-place concrete. Jointing sand in a light color is applied between the crevices of the Town Hall pavers to help accentuate the edges of the darker pavers, and guarantees the pavers are locked in tight and won’t shift under the weight of tires. To contrast the darker pavers, a new world surprise comes in the form of Unilock Umbriano Hex pavers in Winter Marvel, which runs up the modern driveway in a zig-zagging pattern, dividing the darker squares to create a delightful contrast. Additionally, Umbriano rectangles in Winter Marvel are laid in 90 degree angled lines down the middle of the Town Hall squares, resulting in a sharp, sleek-looking border that when viewed from above, looks like a 3D-optical illusion.
