Expansive Backyard Patio Design

The owners of this home set out to create a welcoming backyard patio where they could entertain and unwind in various outdoor spaces. The design, inspired by versatility, brought together different Unilock paver styles to define each area.

Each distinct entertainment space within this expansive backyard patio design showcases Unilock Granito™ hexagon-shaped pavers, strategically utilized as the primary paving material for the upper patio, the entertainment area featuring a TV wall and bar island, beneath the jacuzzi, and extending to the far end of the patio beneath a set of beach lounge chairs.  The Granito pavers, with their uniquely mottled color finish achieved through Artista™ Color Technology and the durable surface of EnduraColor™, added vibrancy and longevity to the space.

Connecting these distinct areas, a monochromatic walkway of Unilock Beacon Hill™ Smooth pavers was laid out, utilizing a random pattern of three paver sizes. This walkway not only tied the spaces together but also served as the main flooring for the outdoor kitchen, seamlessly blending with the sleek, modern look of the project.

In tandem with the modern elements incorporated throughout this project, the homeowners felt it was important to also incorporate a few rustic elements as well. To achieve this design goal, Unilock Olde Quarry™ Wall in Granite was used to construct the lower seat walls, pillars, counters, and the outdoor grill island, topping them off with natural cut Limestone coping. These vertical features, alongside Granito and Beacon Hill Smooth, created visual harmony with their contemporary color palette, enhancing the unified look of the patio.

To ensure safe navigation at night, patio lighting was installed into the Limestone coping, guiding the way during the evenings. The wayfinding was supported with the addition of a double-wide border of Unilock Mattoni™ in Dark Charcoal, providing a clean border that complemented the gray tones of the patio and brought forth a timeless charm.
