The owners of this ultra-modern farmhouse-style abode aimed to bring balance and modern charm to their backyard patio, harmonizing with the architectural essence of their home.

Their vision materialized in the form of a striking outdoor modern fireplace, serving as the patio’s centerpiece alongside a built-in TV wall, nearby garden walls, and a grill island. These features were meticulously crafted using Unilock U-Cara® with a Smooth finish in Dark Charcoal, topped with Architectural Coping in Charcoal. The Smooth finish, enhanced by EnduraColor™ technology, ensured enduring vibrancy and texture, resisting the effects of time for years of enjoyment.

Employing the U-Cara Modular System for construction brought efficiency and versatility to the project. Aluminum-framed cabinets facilitated a speedy assembly, offering a faster alternative to traditional concrete walls. The flexibility of these aluminum frames allowed for off-site preparation and seamless integration onto the job site, streamlining the construction process.

To complement the darker tones of the outdoor modern fireplace, a paver rug of Unilock Mattoni™ in Dark Charcoal, laid in a herringbone pattern, added a touch of timeworn elegance underneath the fireplace. Mattoni’s reinterpretation of classic Roman brick, infused with a modern twist, harmonized beautifully with the light-colored Arcana™ large-format slabs in Modena. The interplay of Modena and Dark Charcoal hues created a captivating yin-yang effect, enriching the patio’s aesthetic.

Arcana’s silky matte texture and speckled color palette, achieved through meticulous surface blasting, not only exuded elegance but also provided a non-slip surface ideal for this particular project. These slabs also come factory-sealed with EasyClean™ stain resistance technology, ensuring faster cleanup of spills before a stain takes hold, making it a practical choice for the nearby grill island, where spills are likely to occur.
