Disrupting Home Design

When it comes to a bold paver design, it pays to think outside the box. The owners of this ultra-modern home were looking for a design scheme for their driveway and backyard that featured a bold paver design that would help complement the strong outlines of their home.

The driveway’s light and dark paver combination was created using Unilock Series pavers in Arctic Grey and Nordic Star, and are laid in a horizontal running bond pattern. Things start to get even more interesting as you move up the driveway when the modern pattern is disrupted by one large and one smaller half-circle design, both accented with darker Series pavers in Black Granite (Onyx Black). As you approach the front steps, patio under lighting installed into the darker step pavers helps illuminate the path to avoid a potential trip hazard. The pattern disruption continues as Series in Black Granite (Onyx Black) adds darker accent pavers to the garden wall, but also helps keep with the overall color scheme of the project.

Around back, the drama continues to unfold with Unilock Beacon Hill Smooth slabs in Granite Mist along the backyard patio that is disrupted by dark rectangular paver accents. A wooden bench is constructed into a U-Cara wall. The end result boldly goes where no home design has gone before, while also greatly enhancing the overall curb appeal of this ultra-modern home.
