This historic home’s large driveway, courtyard, and cobblestone walkways required a thoughtful combination of materials to deliver function and aesthetic beauty.
For the main drive area, Unilock Brussels Block in Limestone was chosen. This tumbled paver has a naturally antiqued patina that provides an aged appearance and can endure the demands of a driveway application. Separating both ends of the driveway is a luscious walkway and decorative fountain that serve as the main focal point for the courtyard garden area. The main paver rug of this space utilizes Unilock Courtstone in Basalt, providing a deep, rich color and luxurious appearance that is modelled after historic European cobblestones, while staying true to the home’s architectural style. This walkway provides a space to admire the fountain center piece, and direct visitors toward the front entrance. As an Elegance paver, Courtstone uses Reala technology to create unique shapes, and is manufactured with up to four times the strength of traditional poured concrete with Ultima concrete. Jointing sand is applied between the pavers, binding them in place in order to prevent shifting under the weight of vehicle traffic.
