The owners of this backyard project wanted to take full advantage of their small space by implementing key features that would make a big impact. For this reason, an outdoor kitchen with a fire pit were chosen as the main feature point of the design.
The sleek grill island, which is made out of Lineo Dimensional Stone in Sierra, has a bar-style overhang that allows it to serve as both a cooking and eating area. A contemporary fire pit, similarly built using Lineo Dimensional Stone and topped with Ledgestone coping in Buff, is strategically placed to provide symmetry with the grill. Because it can be used to create a variety of various vertical features, Lineo Dimensional Stone is a popular choice for a job like this. The overall design aesthetically grounds a neighboring relaxation space, where comfortable outdoor chairs and a couch wrap around the fire pit, creating a warm, inviting space for guests to stay toasty during evening social events.
For the patio bed, Unilock Artline pavers in Bavarian was chosen. Artline pavers, which are sold in a random bundle of seven different rectangular shapes, features long, clean lines that combined together, form the popular running bond laying pattern. Artline pavers come factory sealed with EasyClean technology, which protects the surface from staining that may occur from spills during summer grill season. Artline pavers also have the added benefit of being a Unilock EnduraColor product, which means they will keep their original color long after the installation is finished. Additionally, a row of paver banding featuring Unilock Town Hall in Basalt was used around the entire perimeter of the project, delineating the edges of the patio while effectively elevating the vertical features of the space. Town Hall pavers have ultra-realistic textures cast from real cobblestones and are four times stronger than poured concrete, making them a popular border accent for any design project.
This outdoor project demonstrates that you don’t need to have a large space in order to make a big statement, and that choosing the right contractor vetted by Unilock can make all the difference in realizing your vision.
