It’s more common than you think to plan your outdoor project around a strong focal point, or piece de resistance, if you will. This cozy seating area in particular is part of a larger, multi-level project that stands out from the crowd thanks to its bold paver design.
Unilock Estate Wall in Almond Grove was selected to carve this space out of the hillside, retaining a garden area uphill and elevating the patio on the downhill side. The softscaping around the retaining wall adds to the impression of comfort. Unilock Beacon Hill Flagstone in Almond Grove was chosen as the main patio floor on the circular paver seating area, providing a relaxed look and feel to the project. This color was chosen intentionally to seamlessly blend with the Estate Wall, created a muted tone that would allow for the patio’s more striking features to take shape. One of these elements is the unique paver banding, which consists of a triple row of Courtstone pavers in Basalt, followed by a parallel course of Unilock Copthorne in a tri-color band that makes a dramatic statement and highlights the circular shape of the seating area. Both Courtstone and Copthorne are under the Elegance line of pavers, which delivers timeless beauty thanks to Reala technology, which offers an authentic surface appearance inspired by European street pavers. These pavers also benefit from Ultima concrete, which provides up to four times the strength of regular poured concrete.
