Incorporating an Accent Paver in Your Vertical Applications

Unilock® set the trend of incorporating borders and accents into paver patios, driveways and walkways. Now, with Unilock Select™ our customers can go even further in their design by incorporating those same beautiful accents into Unilock walls, pillars and other vertical applications for a complete designer look! Take a look at some of the images below for ways in which accents were incorporated.

The above pillar and wall uses a combination of Brussels Dimensional® and Copthorne®

A common question is, “What do you recommend to use behind the pavers to help hold up the accent course?” Below are two diagrams of how to install an accent into a wall. In many cases you may need a “backer block” to accomplish the positioning of the accent pavers. The image on the left is a soldier accent; while the image on the right is a single running bond. Both applications require concrete adhesive to secure the cap and the accent paver to the backer block.
