Turf Master Landscape Design of Wayne, NJ, Start Pool Patio Project off with Ledgestone Fullnose Coping
This backyard hardscape project, including pool deck and patio, is the undertaking of Unilock Authorized Contractor, Turf Master Landscape Design of Wayne, NJ. The project includes the installation of Ledgestone Fullnose coping around the pool and the laying of Beacon Hill Flagstone in the Steel Mountain color option as a primary paver of the pool deck. The hardscape will also feature a border consisting of Copthorne pavers in the Basalt color option.
The team begins the project with the installation of the Ledgestone Fullnose coping around the pool. The coping is being adhered to the pool edge using a mortar base which is being mixed in small batches to ensure that it does not set prematurely.
Being a thinset mortar, only a small amount is needed for each coping unit. The advantage of this mortar, as opposed to a mastic, or gum-based adhesive, is its proven ability to cope well with moisture. Naturally, for pool coping, this property is absolutely essential.
Each Ledgestone Fullnose coping unit is individually checked to ensure that it sits level, both independently and in relation to neighboring units. A rubber mallet is used to make small adjustments where necessary.
Plastic spacers ensure that each unit is placed a uniform distance from adjacent units and that the jointing lines are of a consistent thickness. To ensure that the front edge of the coping is kept straight, Turf Master Landscape Design use a string line attached to either end of the pool edge.
Once each piece of coping has been put in place, the Turf Master crew carefully remove any excess mortar. This ensures that unused mortar does not dry in place and cause difficulties when laying the pavers of the pool deck.
We look forward to seeing further progress on this project by the Turf Master Landscape Design crew.
