Homewood Suites hotel in Teaneck, NJ, entrusted Unilock Authorized Contractor, Todé Landscape Contractors Inc., with perfecting their paved surrounds.

Beacon Hill Flagstone pavers in the cool Almond Grove color variation were selected to complement the hotel’s chic architecture. These pavers have a stunning, natural appearance with well-blended shades and modest surface textures that come together to create a classic look. They are also ideal candidates for virtually any application, from driveways to patios.

Beacon Hill Flagstone is a worthwhile investment for homeowners and businesses that cannot afford the cost or inconvenience of having their paved surfaces regularly updated. These pavers are imbued with EnduraColor Facemix Technology from Unilock, which locks their rich color and detail in place and prevents fading, despite constant UV exposure.

Todé Landscape Contractors opted to install the pavers manually. When laying pavers, it is important to create joints of a consistent width to achieve a finished product that looks neat and professional. Tight joints also tend to distribute loads more effectively than wide joints and a width of ⅛” is usually recommended. It is also important not to slide pavers across the base when laying them down, as a build-up of screeding sand between pavers will make it difficult to maintain a uniform alignment. Creating precise chalk lines or running lines of string in several directions at intervals of about 3’ or 5’ will help to keep pavers in alignment and prevent crooked joints. It is recommended that contractors try to plan a paving project so that multiple employees will be able to pave different sections of the surface simultaneously without compromising the paver pattern.
