TKC Landscaping Showcases Timelapse of Project in Newburgh, NY, Taking Shape

Unilock Authorized Contractor TKC Landscaping is currently heading a massive residential project in Newburgh, NY. The project includes installation of a gunite pool and hot tub, construction of the poolside surrounds, low wall systems, a propane fueled fire pit, walkways, and an outdoor kitchen on the veranda. The pool patio alone amounts to around 3,000 sq. ft of pavers. That’s not even counting the roughly 650 sq. ft that make up the walkways. The pavers used in this project include Beacon Hill Flagstone in the Bavarian color option for the pool area, combined with a Copthorne border. View timelapse footage of the project and hear what TKC Landscaping owner, Chris McVey, has to say about the project here!

The CAT is on the prowl as excavation continues.

Earth moving equipment prepares the area for the 3,000 sq. ft poolside patio.

Paving of the pool area with Beacon Hill Flagstone begins. Battling near freezing temperatures and worsening weather, Chris McVey and the TKC Landscaping crew are pushing hard to get as much as possible done on the project before the winter freeze sets in. “Feels like, you know, Florida out here,” jokes Chris. With this in mind, the team has opted for an open-graded base – a ¾ inch stone with ¼ inch setting. “It replaces Item #4 and a sand setting bed, which we found held water and gave you imperfections in base,” says Chris. This is something the team are trying to avoid. When the temperatures drop below freezing, any water trapped in the base will freeze, making it difficult to work with. Even so, no project is without its challenges, which is why TKC Landscaping buys all of their materials from EP Jansen Nursery, a Unilock Authorized Dealer & family owned business founded in 1972. “They’re really knowledgeable and very good, and work with me on all of our projects,” says Chris.
