Rock and Pavers Construction of Bloomingdale, NJ Add Flair to Massive Driveway Project with Unilock Pavers
This massive project, undertaken by Rock and Pavers Construction of Bloomingdale, NJ, includes both front and backyard hardscape elements and makes use of a stunning design that will ultimately unite the two spaces. In the front yard, a graphic driveway design has been used to provide two points of entry to the property, either by vehicle or by foot. The flowing nature of the driveway allows vehicles to drive up to the front door to drop off passengers and make an easy exit back onto the street without any complicated turns.
From the driveway, vehicles also have access to the parking area and garages around the side of the house. This set-up accommodates both homeowners and guests visiting the property.
The driveway incorporates an interesting trio of mutually compatible materials, each contributing its own unique color and texture to the mix. The design unites rusticity, old world formality, and sleek modernity by making use of the combination of split-face natural stone, Courtstone pavers and Umbriano, respectively.
Courtstone pavers make up the largest percentage of the driveway surface, with Umbriano pavers being reserved for the entry points and the apex of the archway-like design. The worn edges and deep coloring of Courtstone, go well with the property’s commanding, Old World feel, and highlight key points of the architecture, such as the slate roof shingles and bonneted dormers.
Part of Courtstone’s exceptional appearance is its wide joint lines. This allows for the use of a jointing sand that will highlight and contrast its deep coloring. A tan sand, for example, creates a high degree of visual interest when combined with the Basalt color option used here. To prepare the Courtstone driveway for the Polymeric Sand that has been chosen for this project, the Rock and Pavers Construction crew use a leaf blower to remove dust, pebbles and organic debris from the joints.
More developments on this promising project are to follow as we explore the progress being made in the backyard of this home.
