Rivco Construction, LLC. was asked to construct this retaining wall system to hold back the soil and allow for a more easy-to-navigate passage around the side of this building. Flooding of the lower area was also a concern – and a threat to the foundations. These issues were promptly rectified with the help of this Unilock Concord Wall retaining wall, featuring the product’s XL Units.

The wall makes use of Concord Wall 24” coping units for a neat and cohesive finish. These coping units feature Concord Wall’s textured finish on its facing edge. The other edges are left smooth to ensure a tight fight and to allow for various applications.

The smooth back edge means that this coping can be fitted flush against other structures or pavers, as steps or edging. Because of its heavy duty nature, Concord Wall is ideal for constructing raised patios and terraces, as well as heavy-duty retaining walls. Here the coping has been marked and is ready to be cut for fitting.

Concord Wall features a built-in setback design to ensure that the wall automatically forms the correct slope. Because the XL Units have been used here, and because of the fact that this retaining wall is relatively low, the built-in setback was not required. Nonetheless, the sturdy interlock of the wall units ensures that the wall is suitably stable for this application.

The resulting wall is strictly vertical, rather than slightly sloped as would be necessary in more heavy-duty applications. The Sierra color option used here is a suitable pairing for the facebrick of the building, without being too similar as to appear mismatched.
