This Georgian-style home’s symmetry is beautifully offset by the gentle curves of its traditional driveway, entrance, and surrounding walkways.
At first glance, the main paver field that is comprised of Unilock Thornbury in Bavarian appears to be set in a random pattern of three different sizes, but closer inspection reveals a symmetry that complements the home’s architectural style. Thornbury pavers have a dramatic surface texture with a larger joint space to allow rainwater to flow back into the subsoil when the product is installed on a permeable base rather than running off into storm sewers. With the additional benefits of EnduraColor, a unique two-step manufacturing process, Thornbury pavers have a refined surface that is protected from fading over time, making it a paver that will last for years. It is highly regarded as a traditional driveway paver that is capable of handling the heaviest vehicle loads.
A double-lined border of Unilock Town Hall pavers in a contrasting Basalt color was used throughout the driveway and curving walkways to help define the borders while mirroring the color of the home’s roof and shutters. One line is laid vertically, running parallel with the driveway while the outer border is turned horizontally, giving the appearance of a double-wide border. A subtle pattern break is noted adjacent to the home’s garage, where the appearance of a shark fin is designed using Town Hall pavers, providing a unique artistic touch to the traditional driveway paver arrangement.
