Platinum Prepare for the Construction of a Formal Front Entry Courtyard in Bellmore, NY
The owners of this Bellmore, NY, property wanted a front yard design that matched the regal, historical elegance of the architecture and coloring of the building. In response, Platinum Site Development Inc. came up with this formal courtyard design, capturing the shapes presented in the architecture of the home with the use of cut-away, arced corners. The coloring of the roof and architectural detail is reflected in the shades of bluestone that will be used as the main paving material. Unilock Brussels Block half stone pavers will be used as subtle accents to marry the courtyard to the facade of the home. These will form a narrow single course border around the bluestone main field, separating it from a double course of running bond Courtstone pavers, which will pick up on the dark undertones of the bluestone. The border will be finished off with a wide Richcliff outer edge as a final touch of elegance to the ornate courtyard. The courtyard will serve as a grand welcoming to guests of the property and will provide off-street parking for vehicles.
The base has been laid and the edging for the courtyard is in place. Leaving only the screeding to be completed before the bluestone pavers are put into place, followed by the eye-catching Unilock paver border.
The entrance to the courtyard has been centred to the front door of the home, ensuring that the courtyard provides an impressive transition from the street and directs the eye towards the home.
The bluestone pavers will rest on a bed of coarse, clean bedding sand and a poured concrete base. This will allow greater durability for the feature and ensure that the bluestone pavers do not shift over time.
