This backyard overhaul by Old Mill Nurseries of Bellmore, NY, involved a complete landscape redesign. The new backyard includes a pool and surrounding decking, an outdoor kitchen, raised planters and new flower beds alongside the pool.

The patio features Treo pavers in the new Steel Mountain color option, with natural bluestone coping. The grill island and raised planters are built with Brussels Dimensional System wall units in Limestone. The grey-on-grey tones work together to create a modern, uniform look that complements the home’s exterior.

A row of boxwood hedges along one side of the pool create a stark contrast with the grey pavers and white fence. As the trees mature, they will provide additional privacy around the pool. Taller trees at the foot of the pool also help to increase privacy and soften the expanse of masonry.

Treo pavers feature a textured surface that gives them a natural flagstone appearance. The smaller unit sizes allow for more flexibility, especially in tight areas, such as between the fence and the pool of this project. Treo pavers are manufactured with EnduraColor Facemix Technology, creating wear resistant pavers with rich, concentrated color.

The Brussels Dimensional System wall units offer a relaxed, tumbled finish that lends to the casual appearance of the vertical features. With stones in 3 different compatible sizes, as well as tapered units, the Brussels Dimensional System is an extremely versatile wall unit with a wide variety of color options. The tapered units found in the Brussels Dimensional System, allows the simple construction of curved walls, stairs and fire pits.

These workers are putting the finishing touches on the patio. Washing off excess dust and dirt before performing a final inspection and applying any sealants is essential to ensure the best possible finish. When using a power washer, water should hit the stones at an angle of no more than 30 degrees to protect the jointing material.
