McCartney Landscaping Inc. Combine Modern Minimalism and Rich Traditional Textures in Stunning Mississauga, ON, Hardscape Project
This stunning backyard getaway was created by McCartney Landscaping Inc. of Mississauga, ON, in 2015. In addition to transforming this small backyard into a minimalistic paradise, McCartney Landscaping energized the modest front entrance using a similar color palette and aesthetic theme. After attending a Unilock design seminar, this homeowner was inspired to employ a Unilock Authorized Contractor and cutting-edge Unilock 3D software to envision and construct a beautiful backyard.
Unilock Natural Sandstone in Stonecliff Grey was paired with Richcliff pavers in a blend of Pebble Taupe and Dawn Mist to produce an elegant patio surface with a relaxed look and feel. Richcliff pavers pair well with natural stone because they emulate the shades and textures of stone so well. Unilock incorporates various technologies into the manufacturing process of Richcliff pavers to ensure that their flagstone-like surfaces are convincing and their deep surface colors are long-lasting.

Richcliff pavers, just like the Premium Quality Natural Stone, they are paired with, have heavily textured surfaces. These surfaces create a rather interesting contrast when juxtaposed with the sleek Lineo Dimensional Stone walls that enclose the patio. While the Granite Blend and Midnight Charcoal colored wall units subscribe to the same color palette as the pavers underfoot, their clean edges and smooth surfaces deliver a different aesthetic flavor. Contrasts like these are excellent ways to add texture and personality to a hardscape.
A single course of Basalt Courtstone pavers can be found lining the edges of both patios. This serves to neaten the paved surface and make it appear more anchored and purposeful. Courtstone pavers, just like Richcliff pavers, are manufactured from molds cast from real cobblestones, resulting in unique and convincing surface textures. This process is termed Reala Surface Technology and is used by Unilock to produce a variety of reliable concrete substitutes for natural stone.
