Green Scene Landscaping uses Copthorne Pavers to create Unique Walkway in Toronto, ON
This 2-part masonry project in Toronto, ON, was undertaken by Unilock Authorized Contractor, Green Scene Landscaping. The first phase of the project involved updating the front walkway using classic Copthorne pavers. The client later returned to Green Scene Landscaping for a matching patio and wraparound walkway. The goal was to deliver a modern landscaping update while maintaining the historic feel of the property.
The first phase of the project involved a new front walkway connecting the front entrance of the home to the sidewalk. Green Scene Landscaping chose Copthorne pavers for this project to help uphold the old-world charm of the client’s 100-year-old home. A herringbone laying pattern finished with a soldier course border adds interest and completes the charming front entrance.
When it came time to do the backyard, the contractor had to find a way to connect two walkways of different widths. The unique circle design at the junction of the two sidewalks provides an original solution for connecting the two walkways.
When dealing with a long and narrow property, the challenge is to avoid making the outdoor space feel closed in. The sidewalk connecting the front and back yards features curves to give the yard more dimension. The curves also allow space for patches of grass to help soften the long expanse of masonry. The patio and walkway also incorporate an abundance of greenery to add privacy and create texture and movement.

Copthorne pavers are made with Ultima Concrete Technology, creating a nearly indestructible paver that won’t split or crack. They also feature Reala Surface technology which provides the realistic texture of antique street brick pavers. This combination produces a paver with an authentic feel that is able to withstand heavy use in both residential and commercial applications.
The project also included an updated front porch and new stairs down to the separate basement entrance. To see more pictures of this project, visit the Green Scene Landscaping portfolio located on their website.
This project of the week from 2015 is a perfect example of how a refreshed outdoor living space can transform even the smallest backyard. The unique use of Copthorne pavers helps create a patio that complements the home’s architecture while still feeling modern and new.
