Father & Son Masonry use Series Pavers for High-Contrast Driveway Border in Old Greenwich, CT
For this side yard and double garage driveway, Father & Son Masonry opted for a combination of Series pavers in the Peppered Granite and Black Granite color options. Series pavers in Peppered Granite form the bulk of the driveway surface, while the Black Granite color option adds high-contrast accents to the hardscape. The driveway also incorporates raised edging matching the Peppered Granite pavers to add extra dimension to the driveway.
The Series pavers used in this driveway are a good match for the granite veneer finishes of the home’s siding and complement the deep green trim of the garage and pillars, while enhancing the appearance of the lawn and plantings.

Unilock Series pavers are part of the EnduraColor Plus Architectural Finishes product line and incorporate EnduraColor Plus Facemix Technology to ensure a vibrant, realistic surface that will last for many years to come. The realistic, washed-granite appearance of Series is achieved by infusing the surface of these pavers with a high performance mineral blend, which includes granite and quartz, as well as marble aggregates. In addition to creating a hard-wearing surface, this ensures that Series pavers offer deep color and a naturally speckled appearance.
With the raised edging already in place, Father & Son Masonry first laid the Peppered Granite main-field paver, allowing room for the Black Granite border. A standard size for the border paver was chosen, ensuring a consistent border width, despite the tricky curves of driveway’s edge. The border pavers were then tapered – cut using a table saw – and put in place. Main-field pavers along the border were then removed and shaped to accommodate the border.
Despite the need for a great deal of cuts to be made to the pavers to ensure that they fit snugly together, Father & Son Masonry kept the work area clean and tidy by confining their equipment to key areas on the site, and tidying up the area as they went along. This ensures a workspace that is easy to navigate and maximizes efficiency on the job. In addition, it made a good impression on the homeowners, who were highly satisfied with the outcome of their project.
