Bay Avenue Plant Company of Surf City, NJ, uses Stunning Paver Combo for Bayside Pool Deck
Bay Avenue Plant Company of Surf City, NJ, constructed the stunning pool deck and patio for this bayside home. The pool deck and patio feature the interesting juxtaposition of Artline pavers and Beacon Hill Smooth XL Units. The elongated, plank-like shapes of Artline, combined with the impressive size of Beacon Hill Smooth XL, create a sleek contemporary appearance that offsets the lines of the wooden jetty. Both pavers were chosen in the Steel Mountain color option for a cohesive appearance, relying on the various shapes and sizes of the pavers to create visual interest.
This bold, linear effect is further enhanced by a number of near 45 degree angles that bisect the hardscape. The shapes and lines created by the hardscape reflect the angles and forms of the home’s architecture. In addition, the Steel Mountain color option, in which the pavers were chosen, matches and enhances the home’s handsome grey exterior.
To achieve these clean and accurate angles, the Beacon Hill Smooth XL Units were – for the most part – cut in place, relying on the heavy-weight of the units for stability while making the cut. A gas-powered demolition cut off saw was used for mobility. Water was applied to the blade to reduce dust and, consequently, the environmental impact on this picturesque setting.
Since their introduction at the beginning of 2018, Beacon Hill Smooth and Beacon Hill Flagstone XL Units have become hugely popular with hardscape contractors. The heavy weight and large format of the pavers allow for bold and interesting designs. The XL Units are sold separately, but can be incorporated into designs that make use of the range of sizes included in a random bundle for greater variety. Alternatively, these showstopping units can be used on their own for spectacular impact.
