Another Magical Paver Inlay from Unilock Authorized Contractor, Turf Master Landscape Design of Wayne, NJ
Unilock Authorized Contractor, Turf Master Landscape Design of Wayne, NJ, continue to impress with their craftsmanship and mastery of inlays using Unilock pavers. This particular driveway and inlay project is impressive in both size and complexity, featuring a variety of curves, shapes, and graphic devices. The concept includes a compass-like design which forms the inner circle of the inlay, around which a continuous line of pavers weaves a series of hearts.
To achieve this arrangement, Turf Master Landscape Design used a combination of Umbriano color options, including Summer Wheat for the inner circle, Autumn Sunset for the points of the compass, and Harvest Brown for the heart outlines and center point. The driveway proper consists of Westport pavers (also from Unilock.)
These photos show the progression of the project, starting with the completion of the driveway and inner circle of the inlay. Sufficient space has been allowed for the laying of the ring of hearts, with the outer edge already having been marked.
The outer edge of the inlay has now been cut into the driveway body and the outline of the hearts has been laid. Because of the high presence of labor on a project like this, the bedding sand has also been tamped once again to ensure that it is level and even before the next application of pavers. This photo demonstrates how Turf Master Landscape Design achieves the impression of a single continuous ribbon overlapping itself to form the outline of the hearts. The intricate curves have been accomplished using the compass face as a point of reference, along with clearly defined measurements and a sharp eye for detail.
Finally, we see the project starting to take on a more definite shape with the insides of the hearts having been filled. What remains is for pavers to be cut and fitted for the remaining empty spaces to be filled.

To finish off the project, a different laying pattern was chosen for the spaces between the hearts in order to highlight the difference between the sections and contribute to a more concentric design. The completed inlay is a stunning central feature for this driveway and parking area. The presence of this feature reduces the need for additional, extraneous landscape features, and transforms the hardscape of this front yard into the main attraction for visitors and passersby.
