Allor Outdoor Services Create The Perfect Backyard With Copthorne Paver And Rivercrest Wall In Canton, MI
This perfectly balanced backyard was created by Allor Outdoor Services in Canton, MI. For this project they used versatile Unilock Copthorne pavers alongside the stacked flagstone aesthetic of Rivercrest Wall, with the tactful application of Brussels Block and Ledgestone for borders and coping.
This installation is a pristine example of how a variety of different textures and colors can be made to work together to achieve a truly unique design. The patio is paved with Copthorne pavers in a three color blend, which includes the shades Burgundy Red, Burnt Clay and Old Oak, to give the patio a deep, luxurious feel. This paver is part of the EnduraColor Plus line, utilizing Unilock Reala Surface Technology to give it the texture and shape of real brick pavers with the unmatched strength of up to four times that poured concrete provided by Ultima Concrete Technology. The paver is applied in a classic Herringbone 90-degree laying pattern that stays true to the brick-style paver while also dispersing the three color variants evenly through the design.
The clever use of a single course of Brussels Block in the Sandstone variation is also worth noting. This helps to highlight the deeper colors of the Copthorne pavers while consolidating the whole design by matching the Rivercrest wall and the lighter steps leading to the entrance. The border is further accentuated by a soldier course of Copthorne pavers, terminating in a neat patch of lawn to complete the design.
Rivercrest Wall is used to clearly demarcate the softscaping from the hardscaping. The stacked flagstone wall is another classic design that works beautifully alongside the more rustic brick look of the patio. The choice of using Coastal Slate is also important as it matches the Brussels Block border. The Ledgestone coping completes the package, providing a stable surface for planters and doubling as a seating wall thanks to its smoother edge profile, while also matching the steps leading up to the back entrance.
Another small detail that makes a big difference is the use of a lighter jointing compound. The joining compound serves to lock the pavers in place and prevent the growth of weeds. The lighter, grey sand matches the Brussels Block border and Rivercrest Wall while also softening up the more vibrant colors of the Copthorne paver.
This project makes strategic use of classic hardscaping elements such as brick pavers and stacked flagstone walls with unique touches such as the lighter border and jointing sand. Coupled with high-quality Unilock products, the result is a stylish backyard that is bound to provide this client with years of satisfaction.
